To tell you the truth, I've lost many a night's sleep (and this is apparently one of them) over this guild that has become such a bitter-sweet burden to me...

Ever since the creation of Aeons, Kat and I have tried very hard to come up with the guidelines that would benefit all the members; a safe haven for players from different cultures as well as different ages. We want members who joined not only to feel proud to be in this guild, but more than that, to know that they are protected as an individual.

Because of my health and the illness (which most here knew), I have suffered from depression for the better part of last year. And no, I am not asking for pity nor sympathy here. By revealing this to all of you whom I have come to trust and valued, I merely wish to let it known that there's much effort put into holding this guild together. I take criticism personally because I do indeed want this guild to be one of the best (if not the best) out there in the Maple world. Yes, there's much pride, but more so because I have come to treasure the friendships here. And I know, I hope, that everyone would feel the same way...would work together and push this guild forward for years to come.

There were times when I did think about disbanding the guild...and close down this website...but I couldn't. Aeons is more than a guild that I run...it's a home for so many friends in this game. It might have been a burden, but it's one that I am willing to carry because I have come to love not the game, but the people I met through it.

I sincerely hope that all the members here would understand we made decisions with utmost care, and would come to appreciate what this guild has provided for it's members. The last incident regarding Joe was indeed taken a toll on my psyche. As much as I would like to distant myself personally from all the drama, it has been difficult to do so because I care too much.

This is a decision that I don't make easily; however, dued to the disrespectful nature, and the fact that he has continuously distrupting the guild harmony, Joe has been banned from this forum and further association with this guild. Those who disagree are welcomed to join other guilds that would better suited. Afterall, there are many guilds beside ours in Bellocan. I would like to have members who respect our rules/decision and would work as a whole to promote the guild growth. Any further incidents that are similar to this will receive the same penalty. We do not wish to keep anyone who hold animosity toward this guild or worse, the rule enforcers.

For those of you who chose to stay with Aeons, I thank you for your supports and friendships. Aeons will continue to be the home that members can rely on.

PS. A very special thanks to Kat...who has been there to really see the tears that I shed for this guild...and has many a time been on the receiving end of my frustration...I do not know how to express my gratitude except a heartfelt thank you...

I must say pauline that you speak with such eliquence, that was very well written.

and your fruits do not go unheeded. im afraid that somehow i always seem to miss all the drama. but when i do get on theres always the same people and the same harmony that you speak of. you definatly have created the haven that you speak of, and i most certinly respect you for the amount of work it takes to acheive thus.

Thank you Pauline, Kat. I hope you feel better Pauline. If it is any consolation to you, I think that Aeons IS the best guild in maple. Also, I was not in Aeons for the first "Joe" dispute but I am sorry for unintentionally getting him involved in another thread. Pauline, Kat, you have always made sound desicions for the good of the guild. I salute you both.

im sorry for the little uprising i had to both of you. I didnt know the circumstances surrounding it and ive have stress from finals so i needed to blow some steam.. im sorry it came out as it did and i wont disrupt guild harmony anymore. I have come to realize just being in Aeons and the chances i get are so much better than 90% of all players in GMS. I believe I have answered on the subject regarding Guild Alliance. If you happened to miss it, please do take a moment to read it as I would not repeat myself here.

Yes, our guild has problems, and I believe the same goes to every other guilds. No one community can function smoothly and perfectly without some conflicts along the way because we are only human.

Sorry if I offended anyone by suggesting that if you don't find this guild suited you, then you should leave. This IS NOT a country where coming and going is restricted. This IS an in-game guild. I am NOT trying to create a democratic mini-country here by forming a guild. The guild is formed because I DO want to keep a close cirlcle of friends with whom I shared the same idea with while having fun playing this game. Kat and I have tried our best to create this forum for members, but we do NOT appreciate that our efforts have actually been turned around and being bashed upon. WE DO reserve the rights to ban members from this forum. So yes, if you don't like our goals and ideas, you do have the right to leave. If I have to constantly defend my position, argue, or put up a voting poll to get EVERY SINGLE MEMBER's opinion, then please, this isn't a game that I would enjoy to be playing, and therefore, the forming of this guild for me to have fun and be with close friends has lost it's purpose.

Not once had I consider myself ever replying guild members' posts with rudeness. If there's any such post, do put the link here so I can further evaluate my own actions. And if everyone has trouble refrain from criticizing the leadership and from personal attacts, then please don't post. This forum is set up not for the purpose of arguing by all means. As a matter of fact, I will just shut down the website for the peace of mind if this continues.

Frankly, I am tired of the drama, and yes, I do ADMIT our guild has it, and I even agreed and posted thus on the public thread. However, I wish everyone to know, if you like Aeons, then do think clearly on my messages and why I created this guild. There might be a DEMOCRATIC guild where leader will just sit and wait to listen to the very last member voice his/her opinion, and don't care if they are publicly criticized. And they might have actually gone through voting polls every single time there's an issue so all members' opinions will be counted. If you do find one out there, I congratulate you, and do let me know so I would realize that actually there are guilds out there like that which not only tried to provide for their members, set up a forum so members can post whatever they wish, but would indeed smile when they are being criticized. However, I beg your pardon, ours won't be one. Save me all the troubles please, I do have a real life to lead. I don't wish to sign on the game only to hear members throwing remarks that Aeons sucks or what-nots. If anyone think that Aeons is ruled by a dictator, then join one without.

By the way, this guild was created by BOTH Kat and I. Though I might be the one who took over the leadership as of now, she has indeed being the guild leader while I was away for a couple months in the past. she is a very valued member in this guild, and my very close friend. I would suggest that anyone refrain from attacking her personally here.

Very well said, Pauline! Very well said! I agree with you 100%! If anyone has a problem, they are not required to stay. I believe that the guild needs to have plenty of members to be successful, but if the members aren't loyal and don't try to avoid conflict or follow the rules, then what's the point of being in the guild?

This guild IS indeed like a small country, a community of many like-minded people that wish to see this guild grow, but since we became the top guild in GPQ and most recently a Zakuming guild, people have been joining for the stuff, and not the guild.

I have been in this guild ever since the beginning, and I've helped and watched it grow up into what it is now. I never once thought that we would be ranked number 1 in GPQ, or even Zakum. Both of those were just never plausible realities to me for this guild, but now, I'm PROUD to be an Aeons member. I'm PROUD that I helped make this guild what it is today. I'm PROUD that when I leave MapleStory, I know that this guild will still be around and will still be going strong.

If anyone hasn't read this, then please do. I believe I have made it clear about my intention of creating this guild, and what I expected from members including our Jrs.

It tired me tremendously to keep posting and reminding members to respect the leadership, so if you don't agree with what I said above, this guild isn't the one for you. I do not care how small the guild size reduced to. So please do think it over. Members who have the common goal as I do are welcomed to stay, if not, then I do wish you best of luck.

Any further arguements will not be necessary, so please don't try to raise them here again. I value this guild, I treasure the friendships, but I DO expect respects in return.

Hey btw... I am still new so I don't know all the tings fully yet but so many ppl says that this guild is like a one big family and I love the idea of this guild being a cultural melting pot but back to the family thing. As I said, I am still new so I don't really know you ppl well but when I was reading your forums I kind of expected more. I am not trying to insult anyone, least Pauline because she seems so nice person, but I am bit surprised how quiet it is when I log on. There's like only 2 or 3 person saying hi to me. It might be also because we don't know each other yet but I always try to greet guildies when they log in and out. Maybe it's going to take few days before I start to be more familiar with you guys but I am really waiting for it. As I told in my application, the main reason I joined in to this guild was friends so that's why I wrote this message. I don't expect too many ppl to read it but I believe there's lots of friendly players out there.

Uhm, there's like 10 players logged in sometimes I log in and still it's quiet. Few players say hi to me but It's just bit strange for me because I've got used to bit different things in FFVII. Well, it's just my problem then I guess Smile
